The first in Essen...
... and for me the last for sure.
I keep getting later to writing these but I will just note some key parts because I am sort of sick at the moment but do not want to forget certain parts. So just some highlights (or rather "lowlights"...)
really late to give us info about building up times etc (official mail came on Tuesday or such of the week of the event)
No plan for where we will be in the hall, and once we were there they had changed the existing plan so we had to ask again to clear up the confusion.
visitors were pissed to pay so much for entry and other services to eventually realize that many of the stars that were announced actually will not come (many knew beforehand but still)
one tiny hall.
Two stages that were WAY too loud. Speaking with the visitors was almost impossible at times.
Entries to the halls for the vendors/artists were messily organized. One day you had to go in the back of the hall (quite a walk + was raining like crazy), during leaving times it was revered to the end of the hall? The back entrance was closed because fuck you I suppose.
AI in the artist alley. Literally my neighbors printed some weird disney ai crap on stone and sold it. Another artist claimed to remix stuff with AI and make it 3D or some bs. Can't believe this.
If I remember more I might add to it but I am just too beat down to do anything.
It is just weird that having almost no visitors at times was more tiring than the 4+ hours of driving and busy con days. Sheeh.
